A few examples of my design work. As you can see, the illustrator in me usually takes over, despite my best intentions to be "minimal".

A web based app for tradeshows and conferences
I was a founding member of this business. I created the brand identity and all the graphics for three years. Everything from website graphics, app buttons and layouts, power point presentations to trade show booth signage. The concept was presenting Showgizmo as the 'Swiss Army Knife' of the tradeshow world, adding many options to the user experience with a dash of magic. ShowGizmo quickly became (and is still) the leading event app in Australasia.

Virtual Expos New Zealand (VENZ)
A technology company founded in 2009 to create virtual exhibitions
VENZ partenered with American company Expos2, using their sophisticated virtual events platform to create virtual events, a national online tradeshow, ExpoNZ. Another startup, this company needed the full suite of brand assets designed. The look and feel was strongly NZ with a touch of fantasy as the virtual part of the business was important. The model was a very modest form of Second Life.

Hawkes Bay Opera House
A refurb of the old Spanish Mission Theatre in Hastings
I was comissioned to design all the glass for the new extension, the new and old foyer. We settled on the theme 'The Fabric of the Theatre'. The work depicts the iconic Hawkes Bay scenery (representing the community and its creative spirit) coming together and entwining to create the fabric of the theatre. The creative spirit turns into colour as it enters the theatre in the form of a long fused glass window. This work was a delight. I thoroughly enjoyed working with the Archictect Roger Shand, Maori artist Sandy Adsett, glass craftsman extraordinaire John Owens and the other talented people who made this project come to life.
